Built by Union Pacific Railroad in 1925, the original lodge was destroyed by fire in 1966. Today's scenic structure, carefully renovated in 1990, recaptures the look and feel of the first building. Some of the original Western-style cabins are still in use today. Set among a sprawling lawn shaded by giant cottonwoods, the lodge houses a restaurant, snack bar, gift shop, and a spacious patio with rocking chairs that provide both respite and vistas of the canyon walls.
