Utah Olympic Park

Fodor's Review:

At the Utah Olympic Park—site of the 2002 Olympic bobsled, skeleton, luge, and ski-jumping events—you can take recreational ski-jumping lessons or strap in behind a professional driver for a bobsled ride down the actual Olympic course. The 389-acre park also serves as a year-round officially sanctioned training site for members of the U.S. Ski Team and other athletes. In summer, check out the freestyle ski jumpers doing flips and spins into a splash pool and Nordic jumpers soaring to soft landings on a synthetic outrun. Ride one of two zip lines—the extreme version parallels the K-120 jump—or zoom down the steel track of the Quicksliver Alpine Slide. There's also an interactive ski museum and an exhibit on the 2002 Winter Olympics; guided tours are offered year-round, or you can take a self-guided tour.

  • Cost: Museum and self-guided tours free; guided tours $7; rides from $15
