Escalante Petrified Forest State Park

Escalante Petrified Forest State Park Review

About 48 miles east of Bryce Canyon, this state park was created to protect a huge repository of petrified wood, which is easily spotted along two moderate-to-strenuous interpretive hiking trails. There's an attractive swimming beach at the park's Wide Hollow Reservoir, which is also good for boating, fishing, and birding, and a campground with hookup sites.
