Escalante Petrified Forest State Park

Fodor's Review:

Created to protect a huge repository of fossilized wood and dinosaur bones, Escalante Petrified Forest State Park has two short interpretive trails to educate visitors. There's an attractive swimming beach at the park's Wide Hollow Reservoir, which is also good for boating, fishing, and birding.

  • Cost: $5
  • Open: Daily 8AM-10PM
