The New Yorker and the Café at the New Yorker Review

This subterranean, clubby bar, café, and restaurant with its modern continental menu, starched white tablecloths, stained-glass ceilings, and rounded banquette seating offers great people-watching potential. If you feel like indulging, try the filet mignon or the veal chop with morel mushrooms and brandy cream sauce. The café–bar area has a lower-price, more casual menu. You'll usually find a crowd of loyal locals, including power-lunchers mingling and having a good time.

Food is OK but not worth the $$

Service and food are inconsistent. Especially for one of the most expensive restaurants I have ever been to.
