Salt Lake City Restaurants

Market Street Grill

Market Street Grill Review

Seafood's the focus in this Salt Lake standby located in a beautifully restored 1906 building. It's a popular breakfast, lunch, and dinner destination where the selections range from daily fresh seafood entrées to certified Angus beef. Portions are large and include all the side dishes. The atmosphere is usually lively.

Based on reviews I had read in guidebooks and online, I was expecting the restaurant to be sort of hotel bar chic with red stuffed banquettes and lots of 30-somethings just off work. Instead, it was San Francisco style, with lots of wood -- mostly white with dark trim. The emphasis is on the restaurant -- not the bar -- and the clientele was totally diverse in age.
My girlfriend had Maryland crab cakes and I had shrimp stuffed with crabmeat (it was shrimp week), and both dishes were very good.
    Service was prompt and efficient.
Maybe the restaurant is pricey for Salt Lake City, but because we are from the San Diego area, we found the prices reasonable for the portion size and quality.
For those on a budget, there are early bird specials and a small selection of lower-priced dinners.

when I pay $16 to $18 for a salad I expect it to be REALLY good, not just lettuce and dressing. pretty disappointing for the price
