Tabernacle Review

The Tabernacle is best known as the home of the famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir and its impressive organ with 11,623 pipes. Visitors can tour the dome-shape building and hear organ recitals daily. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, organ recitals are held Monday through Saturday at noon and 2 and Sunday at 2. The rest of the year, recitals are held Monday through Saturday at noon and Sunday at 2. Visitors are also welcome on Thursday from 8 pm to 9 pm to listen to the choir rehearse Sunday hymns and from 9:30 am to 10 am as the choir performs for the world's longest-running continuous network broadcast, Music & the Spoken Word.

The Tabernacle is part of the Mormon Temple Square complex, and very interesting architecturally. Acoustics are first rate, and the inside is attractive, if a bit spartan. Be sure you see it during the tour of this area.
