Fodor's Review

Joel and Jill LaSalle own this comfortable, progressive establishment. From morning to well into the evening, a selection of fine teas and espresso drinks, big breakfasts, and fresh, innovative entrées draws regulars to this café and its serene patio courtyard. The menu leans toward vegetarian and seafood selections, and there are plenty of gluten-free options in addition to rich house-made pastries. Don't overlook the nice wine list. The café is a popular gathering

spot, and shares space with the Golden Braid, a shop that sells books and gifts.

Not Worth It

While the setting is lovely, the food and service leave much to be desired. It's not that the food is terrible, it's just that it isn't anything special and it's really expensive. The pasta was overcooked, the strata dry and bland and the pastries were mediocre at best. The management is very snooty and unhelpful too. There are a number of wonderful vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Salt Lake (such as Sage's Cafe). Don't waste your time or money
