Parks
Most neighborhoods have a small park, usually with a children's playground. Salt Lake City Parks Division (801/972-7800. www.slcgov.com/publicservices/parks/) operates several pools and maintains many parks, including the Raging Waters Waterslide park. Parks not under the city's jurisdiction are operated by Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation (801/468-2299. www.parks-recreation.org).
Take the kids to Fairmont Park (1044 Sugarmont Dr., East Side), a smaller park with a children's play area, duck pond, and large indoor swimming pool. Liberty Park (900 S. 700 East St., East Side) has a jogging path, tennis courts, picnic areas, and children's playgrounds, including a state-of-the-art playground for children with disabilities. Sugarhouse Park (2100 S. 1300 East St., East Side) is primarily open space where you can jog, bicycle, fly a kite, throw a Frisbee, or soak up some rays.
