With elegant carved wood-trimmed booths, adobe-brick interior, bright lime chairs, traditional wooden fixtures, and tile accents, El Toro Viejo turns an otherwise drab Main Street building into an authentic journey to Mexico. Since 1995 locals have insisted that this is some of the best Mexican food in the region, with unique entrées like burrito en el huerto (tortillas stuffed with veggies, including cactus) and steak, chicken, or chorizo, and cheese served steaming hot in a molcajete (traditional stoneware mortar). A full bar and rich desserts are also available.
