This homey eatery is not much to look at, but it serves up to 1,000 people per day—many drawn by the affable owner Saboor, who opened it in 1983. The cap-clad retirees and other locals who perch at the counter eating ham and eggs, shooting the breeze with the long-time waitresses, don't seem to mind. You won't either, once you tuck into the malt waffles piled with strawberries and whipped cream. In the evening, you can go decadent with a dessert that includes everything—even the kitchen sink. Angie's "Kitchen Sink" tops mounds of ice cream with hot fudge, blueberries, nuts, or whatever you choose, and serves it all inside a portable kitchen sink! And if you happen to be here on Thanksgiving, they throw open the doors to any and everyone free of charge. Clearly, their hearts are in the right place.
