Fodor's Review:

The riverfront John Wesley Powell River History Museum gives visitors the opportunity to see what it was like to travel down the Green and Colorado rivers in the 1800s. A series of interactive displays tracks the Powell party's arduous and dangerous 1869 journey. The center also houses the River Runner's Hall of Fame, a tribute to those who have followed in Powell's wake. An art gallery reserved for works thematically linked to river exploration is also on-site.

  • Cost: $3
  • Open: Apr.-Oct., daily 8-7; Nov.-Mar., daily 9-5
