John Wesley Powell River History Museum

John Wesley Powell River History Museum Review

The riverfront gives visitors the opportunity to see what it was like to travel down the Green and Colorado rivers in the 1800s. A series of interactive displays tracks the Powell party's arduous and dangerous 1869 journey. The center also houses the River Runner's Hall of Fame, a tribute to those who have followed in Powell's wake. An art gallery reserved for works thematically linked to river exploration is also on-site. The museum doubles as the town's visitor center.
