Goblin Valley State Park

Fodor's Review:

All of the landscape in this part of the country is strange and surreal, but Goblin Valley State Park takes the cake as the weirdest of all. As the name implies, the area is filled with hundreds of gnomelike rock formations. Colored in a dramatic orange hue, the goblins especially delight children. Short, easy trails wind through the goblins, and there's a small, but dusty, campground with modern restrooms and showers.

  • Cost: $7 per vehicle
  • Open: Daily 8-sunset
