Because Dinosaurland is less well known than other parts of the state, bikers can often escape the crowds and enjoy some scenic solitude. The area has some 200 mi of trails. Bring plenty of water and sunblock.
Altitude Cycle. To talk to knowledgeable cyclists about local trails off the beaten path, stop in here; they can set you up with trail guides, repairs, and accessories. Ask for a map of biking hot spot McCoy Flats, just 6½ miles west of the shop, off Highway 40. There you'll find 45 miles of trails to explore. 580 E. Dinosaur River Expeditions. Explore the best local mountain biking trails with guides from Dinosaur River Expeditions. Most of the biking tours take you just west of Vernal to McCoy Flats. There your guide will lead you on the best trails for your abilities. Novices might start on the 1½-mile Milk and Cookies loop, while advanced riders may head for the 5½-mile technical singletrack of Slippery when Wet.
