Fodor's Review

This section of U.S. 191 climbs north from the Helper vicinity, cresting at Indian Creek Pass at an elevation of 9,100 feet. Then it begins a long descent into the Uinta Basin area, ending at Duchesne. The winding, 43-mile route takes you through canyons, over plateaus, and into the heart of the geology and natural beauty that make up this part of Utah. Take it slow and watch for fallen rocks and rockslides, which often litter the road.
