Fodor's Review:

High in the forests of the Manti-La Sal Mountains, Scofield Reservoir is a popular destination for boating and fishing in summer, and ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in winter. Facilities close in late October. The town of Scofield at the southern end of the lake was once a thriving coal mining town, and the Scofield Cemetery is filled with headstones from the Winter Quarters mine explosion that killed 200 men and boys in 1900.

  • Cost: $5
  • Open: May-Oct., daily 6AM-10PM; Facilities closed Nov.-Apr.
