Festivals and Events


Harvest Time Scarecrow Festival. Events for this monthlong celebration of the end of another busy tourist season are held throughout Wayne County. In addition to a scarecrow competition, there are plenty of happenings to please both children and adults, including music, arts and crafts, pumpkin carving, and more. The festival culminates in a Halloween party at the Rim Rock restaurant in Torrey. Torrey, UT. 435/425–3265.

Women's Redrock Music Festival. Held at the Robber's Roost Bookstore, this two-day event has been attracting independent female musicians from all corners of the globe, as well as hundreds of fans, since 2007. Run by the nonprofit Entrada Institute, a regional arts and education organization, the festival benefits Utah women through donations and scholarships. 185 W. Wayne County Fair. The great American county-fair tradition is at its finest in Loa. Horse shows, demolition derby, rodeo, and a parade are part of the fun. There are also crafts such as handmade quilts, agricultural exhibits, children's games, and plenty of good food. It takes place over six days in mid-August. 435/836–2765.
