Festivals and Events
JULY
Bicknell International Film Festival. Don't get out your best black beret to attend this event—it's a spoof on serious film festivals. It begins with the world's fastest parade, a 55-"mph" procession from Torrey to Bicknell. Past themes have included "UFO Flicks," "Japanese Monster Movies," and "Viva! Elvis." No phone. www.thebiff.org.
AUGUST
Wayne County Fair. The great American county fair tradition is at its finest in Loa. Horse shows, turkey shoots, and the Tilt-A-Whirl are all standards, as is a rodeo and a parade. Look at handmade quilts and other crafts, see agricultural exhibits, play games, and eat plenty of good food while you spend a day at the fair. 435/836-2765.
