Fodor's Review

Best seen as you exit the park, this scenic overlook adjacent to Boat Mesa, ½-mile north of the visitor center and a mile off the main park road, has splendid views of Fairyland Amphitheater and its delicate, fanciful forms. The Sinking Ship and other formations stand before the grand backdrop of the Aquarius Plateau and distant Navajo Mountain. Nearby is the Fairyland Loop trailhead; it's a stunning five-hour hike in summer and a favorite of snowshoers in winter.
