Named for its stunning views at dawn, this overlook is a short walk from the lodge and so one of the park's most popular stops. It's also the trailhead for the Queen's Garden Trail and the Fairyland Loop Trail. You have to descend the Queen's Garden Trail to get a regal glimpse of Queen Victoria, a hoodoo that appears to sport a crown and glorious full skirt. The trail is popular and marked clearly, but moderately strenuous with 300 feet of elevation change.

Sunrise pt is the perfect spot to start hiking the Queen's Garden trail. The best part is the end, when you see the Queen herself. I also saw 4 deer on trail. Incredible!!!! Trail was a little exhausting, but so worth it.!!!!

The shadows look great in the canyon at dawn. Reach there early and find a good spot. The canyon is so beautiful though that it will look great any time of the day. Strongly recommend following up with a walk down the canyon. Especially in summer when it can get hot later in the day.
