Fodor's Review

There are few settings in the world that match this gorgeous, classically Western lodge where the Colorado River rolls by right outside your door and canyon walls reach for the sky in all their red glory. Rooms have log furniture, lots of wood, riverfront patios, and Saltillo tile. Added attractions include an on-site winery and a movie memorabilia museum, as well as guided outdoor adventures including rafting, hiking, biking, and 4x4 trips. Legendary Western films including

Rio Grande and The Comancheros were shot here, too, so you may want to spend a day in John Wayne's footsteps.
