Within the park's 37 square mi are hiking, mountain-biking, and horseback-riding trails, all offering amazing views of the city below. Plans are in the works for 100 mi more of trails. Rock climbing is permitted. This is a good place to get up close and personal with native species like foxes and kestrels and bluebirds, as well as plants found nowhere else in Texas, like the stout barrel cactus. Limited camping is available for tents; there are five RV sites. Tours are offered on the first and third weekends of the month; call ahead to reserve a space.
