People travel from miles around to see this small but popular zoo, which features African creatures like zebras alongside Texan critters like buffalo. The somewhat small zoo, located in Nelson Park, is a great place to interact because you can buy inexpensive food for the animals and then feed them by hand.

Open: Memorial Day weekend-Labor Day, daily 9-9; early Sept.-late May, daily 9-5
