Archer City

Known for its two rare and used bookstores, Archer City also attracts film aficionados. This small town has made it to the big screen not once, but twice, and has often been the model for author Larry McMurtry's fictional towns. Two movies based on books by McMurtry, The Last Picture Show (1971) and Texasville (1990), were filmed here.
