This well-appointed hotel is perfectly located on Shoreline Boulevard downtown, just minutes from many attractions and nightlife options. Business folks and vacationing families alike fill the Omni year-round because of its free airport shuttle, spotless rooms, and professional staff. Kids love the indoor-outdoor pool and hot tub. On the top floor is the terrific, upscale steak house Republic of Texas ($$$-$$$$, 361/886-3515), with panoramic views of the city and bay.
