McAllen and Vicinity

Any consideration of McAllen must include the surrounding towns of Edinburg to the north, Mission to the west, and Pharr to the east. This area is undergoing such rapid growth that these places are quickly becoming suburbs to the larger McAllen. Much of the expansion is due to the city's leadership in the new business arenas of the post-NAFTA world. McAllen, as a result, has the most options for the finer elements of shopping and dining of any city in the Valley.
