Fodor's Review

Part of the Monte Vista Historic District (larger but less known than nearby King William), this inn sits amid some of the city's most beautiful homes and best restaurants. Built in 1910 for a Louisiana aristocrat and home to artist Mary Bonner, the 5,000-square-foot, Italianate villa is decorated with Bonner's art and retains many of the details of the original building, such as hand-painted porcelain fireplaces (in three rooms) and tile floors. Suites have luxurious

whirlpool baths. The rooftop patio has a panoramic view of downtown San Antonio.

The worst bead and breakfast ever!!

I chose this place to stay in San Antonio because all of the good ratings from other people, and because the description on the website; unfortunetly it was the worst place I've tried; the service is bad, nothing works in the bathroom and the swimming pool is as dirty as you can imagine.

An "At Home" experience

This B&B is the most interesting, clean and economical of any B&B my wife and I have been too in the last 15 years. The Herbolds are the most considerate and energetic hosts I have met who create the genuine good feeling that they are delighted you have come to visit them. The food is excellent.
