El Jarro de Arturo
El Jarro de Arturo Review
For more than 30 years this has been a favorite San Antonio spot for upscale and innovative Mexican cuisine. It's tough to choose between the beautiful, festive dining room and the garden-lush outdoor dining patio. And it's also tough to choose from among the diverse entrées, antojitos (appetizers), and desserts. Start out with the botano (sampler) platter to get a sample of the flavors, and then consider the house-specialty fajitas or chicken fundido (swathed in melted, white Mexican cheese) for the main course. The best value, however, is the extensive lunch buffet served weekdays 11–2. There's a full bar, live music on the weekends, and a kids' menu.
