The antidote to big and brash national chains, Cappy's caters to a local crowd craving innovative food, classy but cheerful environs, and solid service. You can score great cheap eats like a Kobe burger or splurge for the chef's three-course prix-fixe menu which lets you pick a salad, entrée, and dessert. A simple but exceptional brunch, where eggs are whipped up in unusual ways, is served on Sundays. The main dining room takes advantage of funky brick architecture, tall windows, and an ever-changing gallery of art. The covered outdoor seating is hard to get on a busy night.

Worth the trip from downtown. Our whole group thought it was wonderful. I had scallops with foie gras and it was world-class. Good wine list, too.

This gem in Alamo Heights is a favorite for the eclectic, artistic atmosphere and food that is presented with the same care as it is prepared...bright flavours, warm hospitality and a dessert menu to savour.

I've eaten there quite a bit and I have to say, it is a nice meal every time.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The service was pitiful and the food was worse. The place was filthy, the floor and table were sticky. The smell was stale. There was nothing about this place that would make me want to return. Pizza Hut would be a substantially better choice.
