Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Fodor's Review:

Set within 100-foot quarry walls, this amusement park features sectors highlighting Texas's rich diversity, from the state's Mexican and German culture to its rip-roarin' Western past. Eight take-it-to-the-max roller coasters are here, including Superman: Krypton Coaster (the Southwest's largest steel coaster) and the new Goliath, a suspended looping coaster that opened in spring 2008. The more than 40 other rides include a white-water rapids flume and a tower drop. Rounding out the offerings are many excellent family-friendly musical shows (a lasting feature from when the property was owned by Opryland)—Fiesta Texas has won the Golden Ticket award for best theme-park shows in the country for nine straight years. Some of the shows invite audience participation. Concerts with big-name artists are also held periodically throughout the season.

  • Cost: $46.99
  • Open: Mar.-Dec., hours vary
