Big burgers, milk shakes and malts, and nostalgic decor dominate this throwback to old-time malt shops. But Jane's is anything but vanilla—literally. Shake and malt flavors include amaretto-espresso, peanut butter and jelly, and peppermint double fudge. The ground chuck burgers come in sizes ranging from ¼- to 1 pound. On the non-meat side there's a good bean burger or triple grilled-cheese sandwich. Adventurous diners should definitely partake of the jalapeño "slivers"—battered and fried slices of onion and peppers.
