Fodor's Review

Business and pleasure converge much the same way the River Walk and Alamo Square come together here-in one continuous flow. A steady stream of conventioneers, vacationers, and locals pass through the Hyatt's soaring 16-story atrium, following a water feature that takes them directly from the Alamo in front to the River Walk in the back, or up the Hyatt's famous glass elevators to their rooms and meeting spaces. During the week the intriguing geometry that makes up the stacked, multi-level lobby feels spacious. On weekends, traffic, particularly in the elevators, gets crowded. Rooms, however, provide plenty of space, and feature business-friendly (large desks, Wi-Fi) and leisurely (iPod docs, big flatscreen TVs) touches. And all will appreciate the generous Hyatt Grand beds. For a view that's nothing short of poetic, request a room facing the Alamo. At night, part your curtains to allow the gentle light from the monument to imbue your room with a sublime glow.
