Belton
The Chisholm Trail was vital to the rebuilding of the South following the Civil War, and when that trail roared through downtown Belton in 1850, the city came to life. Its downtown still contains several historic structures from the 19th century, and the city is the most alive each July during the Independence Day celebration, which features a parade, carnival, rodeo, among festivities.
