By Air in Houston and Galveston

Houston has two major airports: Hobby Airport, 9 mi (15 km) southeast of downtown, and George Bush Intercontinental, 15 mi (24 km) northeast of the city. All the major rental companies have a presence at these airports, so for convenience's sake, it's best to rent them there. However, car-rental offices can be found all over the area, so if you you're in Galveston and decide to take a day trip to Houston, or vice versa, you can easily rent a car from an outpost near your hotel.
