Houston and Galveston Restaurants

Bistro Lancaster

Updated 12/31/1969

Fodor's Review

Breakfast—make that power breakfast—and lunch are popular with the business set at this small, classy restaurant in the Lancaster Hotel downtown, but dinner is the ticket, especially for the pre-theater crowd. Chef Jamie Zelko offers a changing seasonal menu based on fresh local ingredients. Try the crab cakes and bread pudding. Brunch is available on weekends. The adjacent Bistro Bar has a terrific wine list and a cozy, intimate setting.

cold food, frozen attitude

Visited 10/04. Chicken served room temperature. Filet mignon overcooked and still served not even warm! Poor service, with empty water glasses ignored. Management insulting in response to my complaints about the food. Avoid the place; there are much finer alternatives in downtoun Houston.

Crab Cakes Loaded with Crab

The atmosphere for dinner was awesome with a quaint Jazz pianist playing softly as we dined. The Crab cakes were spicy and flavorful with plenty of crab. Made with crissonts instead of bread, the bread pudding was excellent.
