Displays and photographs depict ranch life and early park history inside this ranch-house museum, occupying what is believed to be the region's oldest intact structure. Hiking trails, which are easy to travel and great for kids, spoke off from the shady, tree-lined grounds; one leads to wildlife oases Manzanita Spring and Smith Spring. Due to staffing shortages, the museum might be closed, especially in summer "low" season, so call ahead. Still, this is a worthwhile (and accessible) destination, as you can explore the ranch grounds replete with outbuildings, an orchard, and still-functioning irrigation system. It is also a peaceful setting reflecting echoes of the past.
