Nestled near an active dining and nightlife neighborhood, this historic building houses a luxury hotel that emphasizes personal service and a residential experience. The spacious rooms have marble baths, dark-wood furniture, and deep rich colors; the 20 suites have four-poster beds. A courtesy SUV shuttles guests within a 3-mi radius of the hotel. The nearby nightlife scene is popular with gays and lesbians. Pros: Attentive service, unique architecture and furnishings. Cons: Transportation required to get most anywhere.
