This hotel's Downtown location offers business and leisure travelers plenty of options nearby or via the DART light-rail, which stops just outside. The 16-story hotel is part of the Plaza of the Americas complex, which has shops and restaurants that cater to the 9-to-5 crowd as well as an ice-skating rink. Rooms were renovated in 2006 and include the Westin-branded luxury linens. The lobby was updated in 2004 with earth tones and contemporary lines. Pros: Access to public transportation, quality bedding. Cons: Most restaurants and shops in connecting building are closed weekends, convoluted self-parking system.
