Diners get a modern spin on the Old West at this Fort Worth favorite. The rustic dining room is decorated with saddles, animal trophies, and artistic cacti. Specialties here include stacked enchiladas, tenderloin tacos, and bone-in rib-eye steak. Portions are oversized; an order of the precariously stacked onion rings—thick, tall, and evenly fried—could easily feed four.

You're best to visit Reata when you want an appetizer and some drinks. We went for an entire meal & found only two things on the menu we'd recommend. Granted, we didn't try everything, but we had enough to tell you to order the cheese grits appetizer and the tenderloin tamale appetizer. The margaritas are strong but have so much ice they give a flavor of being watered down (and they're $10 apiece). We had several entrees and wouldn't recommend any of them. I had a chefs special which was surf-and-turf with shrimp that were to be in a demi-glace sauce. Because the chef had overdone the red pepper flakes in the demi-glace the shrimp were overly spiced and inedible. Now, I love spice but this was ridiculous! The shrimp were next to my vegetable & hence caused them to be inedible too. Overall, a good place to sit outside & enjoy some apps and drinks. But, for the value - save your money & visit the Lonesome Dove Bistro instead!
