Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, this is one of Tarrant County's best restaurants, with a legendary crispy roast duck, lamb, fresh fish, excellent daily specials, and a long wine list. The prix-fixe option ($39.95 for four courses) makes dinner an affordable taste of French country cuisine. The intimate French-inspired dining room holds just 16 tables.

The building has a quaint, unassuming country feel. It looks like a cute little cottage. What awaits you on the inside is a gastronomic experience befitting a king. I started with the lump crab meat and avocado with radishes and alfalfa sprouts, then moved on to the belgian endive and pear salad with stilton cheese. It was a perfectly executed salad. My entree was skate with truffle sauce, steamed asparagus and a vegetable tourine. It was all too great for words. The night ended with espresso and a superb Grand Marnier Cheesecake (although I looked longingly at the molten chocolate cake). It was the best meal I have had in at least a year. My compliments to the chef!
