Joe T. Garcia's
Joe T. Garcia's Review
This is the ultimate Tex-Mex joint. There's usually a wait for tables, but with seating for more than 1,000 in the maze of dining rooms and patio areas, the line moves quickly. Dinner is limited to two choices: an enchilada-and-taco combo plate or fajitas. Lunch offers a more traditional menu, and on weekends there are Mexican breakfast specials, including purported hangover-cure menudo (stew made with tripe, hominy, onions, and chili). Folks from all over the area drive to Fort Worth to take out-of-town guests to this lively restaurant about three blocks from the Stockyards—and often hope they'll be seated in one of many relaxing outdoor spots.

The food is bland for Mexican cuisine. We ate the Enchilada and Taco plate because it was either that or fajitas. Buy the Joe T Garcia salsa at a local grocer, it is very good. As for the restaurant, save your time and money and hit your local Taco Bell drive-thru. Taco Bell, Taco Bueno you name it, either place has comparable if not better food than Joe T Garcias.

120 member of a Leawood, Kansas Choir anxiously awaited their dinner Monday April 18, 2008. Sadly the brochures, internet advertising and all the blogs are totally erroneous. A $ 17.00 dinner gets you a place in line for one soggy cheese enchilada, one stale taco, a spoon full of bean puree and a round taco shell with a spattering of cheese and jalepeno- not to mention a glass of tea. This is the worst authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted. And, he waiters reluctantly filled your tea glass and said sorry no desert. According to the internet ads Joe T. Garcia's serves generous portions, with great service, for under $15. Bull ! Save the drive. Save your money. Choose anyplace else.

Just go. Every bite is superb, every time. Our family makes the drive to Fort Worth from Dallas at least once a month for Family Style dinner or lunch. The enchiladas are simply the best I've ever had, and I've had 'em all over the place. The enchilada sauce is sublime. The beans, guac, and tacos are fabulous as well. The setting is fun, casual, happy and friendly, and the service is always great.
