Fodor's Review

Panoramic vistas, a restaurant with an up-close view of jagged mountains, and glimpses of the Colima warbler (which summers in Big Bend) await in the forested Chisos Basin. This central site, considered the spiritual heart of Big Bend at an elevation of 5,400 feet, is ringed by taller peaks and also has hiking trails, a lodge, a campground, a grocery store, a gift shop, the famous Window rock formation, and one of five park visitor centers.
