At the only hotel in the park, the Chisos Basin Mountain Lodge, visitors can select from a freestanding cabin or a hotel room, both within a pace or two of spectacular views—Chisos sunsets are not to be missed. It's fun to stay here because it's close to trails, and has a nice little gift shop and the park's only restaurant. Even if you don't stay here, go just to see the stunning view through the wall-sized dining room windows. Outside the park, the area boasts the Lajitas Resort and some more moderately priced hotels, especially farther north in Alpine and Marfa.
