Fodor's Review

On Lady Bird Lake near Auditorium Shores, the hotel has great views of the water and downtown skyline. The huge, skylit lobby, with tons of native stone and a central atrium rising 17 stories, oozes rugged sophistication. Rooms, which were upgraded in 2006, have 32-inch flat-panel TVs and luxe bathrooms. Business meetings and banquets keep the Hyatt hopping year-round.

my kids austin pick

having lived in austin and going back often to see family, I have tried many. My children love the shuffleboard, chips and queso, pool, UT spirit...we pick it if it is available. Lots of fun.

This is a Hyatt?

This is NOT a hotel that should be listed as a "luxury" hotel on the Hyatt website! Awful decor, smelly small room, no mini-bar, and noisy on top of that! It looks like a converted budget hotel. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!

Showing it age

Just spent one night on a business trip(July 02), saw a few rooms as our guaranteed non-smoking rooms were not available and I was traveling with 2 companions - the rooms all needed upgrading - holes in walls, peeling wallpaper. It's a convention hotel and it shows. Good rates available through internet <$100. "Texas's best fajitas" in their restaurant are far from it! Personable and friendly service from the bar staff!
