Built in 1909, Hyde Park's only B&B—listed in the National Register of Historic Places—is a simply and tastefully decorated three-story home with a mix of antiques and newer furniture. Large wraparound porches and mature pecan trees add to the charm. Owners Kristen and Noel De La Rosa can provide a self-guided walking tour of Austin's historic Hyde Park area. The large room in an adjoining detached carriage house has a kitchenette, big-screen TV, and hot tub. Some good restaurants are within walking distance. There's free in-room Wi-Fi, and the entire house is no-smoking. Pros: Well-maintained and historic, charming neighborhood, close to public transport, 1 mi from UT and 2 mi from downtown. Cons: Only suites have TVs.
