This stylish Southwestern fusion outpost started in Old West Austin and currently has three local locations, in addition to six across Arizona and California. Z'Tejas is popular for its upscale yet unpretentious vibe and attractively presented Southwestern dishes at fair prices. Try the jerk chicken Diablo pasta or Tex-Mex plates like the smoked-chicken poblano chile relleno. Portions are hearty, which we love, but the salads and small bites, like the grilled-shrimp and guacamole tostada bites, are equally enticing. Peak hours can be noisy, with a good chance of a wait before being seated. The weekend brunch has diverse options like barbacoa breakfast enchiladas and chorizo pork scrambles.

Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill is marvelous, not only because of its wonderful food, but because of its classy details that no one can take from them. Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill has a great menu full of scrumptious southwestern cuisine and they have great proportion sizes, so that you don't feel like you've indulged too much deliciousness. I had the Tableside Guacamole as an appetizer and a Chicken Avocado Sandwich as my dinner. The Tableside
Guacamole was just plain amazing! The combination of ingredients is spectacular. When I experienced the explosion of flavor I was overwhelmed by the goodness of this great guacamole. Then came my Chicken Avocado Sandwich all perfectly grilled it was truly remarkable how great of a sandwich was. The service was horrible the waiter was extremely rude to my family and I. Our drinks, appetizers, and dinner were all late. The atmosphere was very serene and very laid back for a classy restaurant. The food did make up for the poor service. However, overall I would go back to Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill any given day.
