Fodor's Review:

This Nashville institution is the place to go for breakfast. It's a favorite haunt of celebrities like Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson and also popular with local politicos. Breakfast is the specialty, with 20 kinds of pancakes and homemade syrups, but there are soups and sandwiches for lunch. Get there by 8:15 weekdays to avoid lines; but be prepared to wait on weekends.

If you visited the Pancake Pantry in its old quarters, you had an experience. Today it's a nice place for pancakes, but it's highly overrated as far as ambiance goes. It looks like any other restaurant now, and the line around the corner to get inside has lost its charm.
