This exquisite, rustic inn sits 5,000 feet, high atop the Cataloochee Divide overlooking a swag -- a deep depression in otherwise high ground. Its 250 wooded acres share a border with Great Smoky Mountains National Park and have access to the park's hiking trails. Guest rooms and cabins were assembled from six authentic log structures and transported here. All have exposed beams and wood floors and are furnished with early American crafts. Dinners here are social events, with hors d'oeuvres, conversation, and an option of family-style or individual seating. There's a two-night minimum stay; bring your own beverages, as the inn is in a dry county.
