$$$-$$$$, Waynesville
Fodor's Review:
Just outside town, this lovely two-story Victorian sits on a knoll, with gorgeous, colorful surrounding gardens. The hotel strives for an impressionist feel, with light, dappling pastoral colors. The rooms and suites are named for and decorated to evoke other destinations, from Savannah to the Caribbean island of Saba to E'staing, France. Part of the house was renovated in 2006. Most rooms have fireplaces, and some suites have whirlpool baths.
