Lomo Grill

$$$-$$$$, Argentine, Waynesville

User Rating: * 1.2

Fodor's Review:

Waynesville's best restaurant combines Mediterranean-style ingredients with the chef-owner's Argentine background. The grilled steaks are perfectly prepared and served with delicately cooked, fresh local vegetables. Many of the fruits and vegetables are grown in the chef's garden. In a 1920s downtown space with a high, crimson-red ceiling, Lomo Grill has superlative servers, efficient and friendly without being obsequious. Try the key lime pie -- it's the best in the mountains. The restaurant serves beer and wine, but no hard alcohol.

Bad all around

Four of us went to this place for dinner a few Fridays ago. It was horribly noisy in the dining room and it took over an hour to be served. I had salmon with an extremely sweet sauce that did not compliment the fish and my wife had some chicken pasta dish with a blah tomato sauce. Basically this is a glorified pasta joint with highly excessive prices. Avoid it!
