Great Smoky Mtns. National Park Sights

Interpretive Ranger Programs

  • Park (National/State/Provincial)

Updated 10/13/2014

Fodor's Review

Ranger programs are available on a variety of subjects, from the danger of invasive plants and alien insects to wildflower identification, and from demonstrations of blacksmithing and basket making to mountain music. On the Tennessee side, most of the programs are held at Sugarlands and Cades Cove visitor centers and at the amphitheaters at Cades Cove, Elkmont, and Cosby campgrounds. Most programs are free, though a ranger-guided hayride at Cades Cove is $14, and many

are suitable for older children and adults. Pick up a copy of Smokies Guide at any visitor center or check the schedule online.
